The Devkund Waterfall trek is a popular and scenic trek located near Bhira village in Maharashtra, India. It’s known for its stunning plunge waterfall that cascades into a clear blue pool.

Here’s a summary of the trek based on the information available:

**Difficulty and Duration:**

- **Difficulty:** The trek is generally rated as “Easy to Moderate.” It’s suitable for beginners with good stamina, but it’s important to be prepared for some challenging sections.
- **Duration:** The trek is typically a one-day trip. The trail is about 6 km one way, and it takes around 2-4 hours to reach the waterfall from the base village, depending on your pace. The total duration for the round trip is approximately 5-6 hours of walking.

**The Trekking Experience:**

- **Trail:** The path is well-defined and goes through a dense forest. You will encounter rocky patches, open meadows, and several stream crossings. There are also some short, gradual ascents.
- **Highlights:** The trek offers breathtaking views of the Sahyadri mountains, lush greenery, and the Bhira dam backwaters. The final destination is the majestic waterfall itself, where you can take a dip in the natural pool.
- **Guides:** It is highly recommended, and often mandatory, to hire a local guide, especially during the monsoon season. This is for safety reasons, as the area can be prone to flash floods.

**Important Things to Know:**

- **Best Time to Visit:** The monsoon and post-monsoon seasons (June to January) are considered the best times to visit, as the waterfall is at its most impressive.
- **Safety:** The trek can be risky, particularly during heavy rains. Be cautious on slippery rocks and avoid swimming in the deep part of the pool directly beneath the waterfall, as there have been reported drownings. Follow all instructions from your trek leader.
- **Essentials to Carry:**
  - Proper trekking shoes with a good grip.
  - Rain gear (poncho or raincoat).
  - At least 2-3 liters of water.
  - Snacks, dry fruits, or energy bars.

### 5.30 pm and headed towards Tamhini ghat. The road was horrible with some patches full of Potholes which were impossible to avoid. As we crossed Mulshi, it started getting dark and we had to lower our speed but still, it was fun Driving at night in Tamhini. At around 8 pm we crossed Tamhini ghat and took a road that goes to Tata Power Station towards Kolad. Next to power station is village Bhira which was our destination for the day.
