The waterfalls at Yeoor, Thane’s lakes, Kalwa Mumbra Retibunder, waterfalls on the Mumbra bypass, Gaimukh Retibunder, Uttan beach in Thane taluka, Khadavli and Titwala river, Subhedarwada, Kalyan’s Kamba Pavshepada, Ganesh Ghat beach, Siddhagadh, Sonala, Padale Dam in Kalyan taluka, the waterfalls at Malshej, Palu, Khopvali, Naneghat, Dhasai Dam, Mahuli Fort in Murbad taluka are popular monsoon haunts. But these places can be risky and therefore, there are restrictions this year.

The locations identified as dangerous monsoon spots are – Devkund waterfalls near Bhira village in Raigad, Chinchoti waterfalls in Vasai, Pandavkada in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, Zenith waterfall at Khopoli, Kundeshwar at Badlapur, Kalawatin Fort in Panvel, Kataldhar waterfall in Lonavala, Mahuli stram at Aasangaon, Harishchandra Nalichi Vaat, Nagpur, Andharban in Mulshi, Plus valley in Raigad, Dudhsagar in Goa, Baraki waterfall in Kolhapur, Rautwadi waterfall in Kolhapur, Gadeshwar Dam in Panvel and Thoseghar waterfall in Satara.

After 2 deaths in Lonavla, Thane bans trekking at Mahuli, Tansa and Bhatsa till Sept
Following the recent deaths of two trekkers at a waterfall near Mahuli Fort and increasing water levels at Bhatsa Dam, the Thane district collector on Saturday stopped trekkers from visiting Mahuli Fort, Tansa and Bhatsa areas until September or further notice.Picnickers are also banned anywhere near Tansa and Bhatsa Dam during the same time to prevent mishaps.
