In the *Dnyaneshwari*\, the name ‘Vasota’ is interpreted as a ‘place of refuge’ or ‘sanctuary.’ Vasota is also known by the name ‘Vyaghragad’ (The Fort of Tigers).\nSituated within the catchment area of ​​the Koyna Dam—specifically within the Shivsagar Reservoir—this region is extremely remote and teeming with wildlife.
