Karnala is easy trek and one day trekking spot. Karanala Fort also famous as Karnala Bird Sanctuary. Currently it is protected by forest department of Maharashtra. Karnala fort actually consists of two forts one at a higher level and other lower. At the centre of the higher level is a 125 feet high basalt pillar. It is also called Pandu’s tower. DESCRIPTION:One day Monsoon Trek Karnala Fort| Mumbai Mountain Hikers \nKarnala Fort is hill fort. It is situated in Raigad district. Height of Karnala Fort is about 1440 feet/439mtr. Karnala is easy trek and one day trekking spot. Karanala Fort also famous as Karnala Bird Sanctuary. Currently it is protected by forest department of Maharashtra. Karnala fort actually consists of two forts one at a higher level and other lower. At the centre of the higher level is a 125 feet high basalt pillar. It is also called Pandu’s tower. This structure was used as watchtower when the fort was occupied however now it is in a ruined condition. The presence of bee hives also makes it difficult to climb and have resulted in at least one casualty in recent times. DESCRIPTION:Monsoon Trek Kalsubai | Mumbai Mountain Hikers \nKalsubai peak height is 1646 meter (5400 feet). Kalsubai is Highest peak of Western Ghat/Sahayadri.  It is also known as Everest of Maharashtra.
