SUMMARY:Kalsubai Trek from Pune - 23 December 2023
DESCRIPTION:Kalsubai Peak Trek from PuneThe Kalsubai Peak is a trek that offers natural surroundings from waterfalls and forests to grasslands. The highest peak of the state of Maharashtra at 5\,400 feet or 1646 meters above the sea level high provides breathtaking views across all of Bhandardara\, which is easily accessible via Pune. \nThe Kalsubai Temple is at the mountain`s peak\, and pilgrims from nearby villages come to take her blessings. It`s believed that a young village girl called Kalsubai lived in those hills. She used to cure villagers and animals and help with pursuits like agriculture. One day the girl left for the summit\, but nevermore returned\, so to remember her\, the villagers built this small temple on her home on the mountainside while the main temple was built on the mountain`s peak. \nBook now – treksandtrails.org/tours/kalsubai-trek-from-pune \nKalsubai Trek Event DetailsKalsubai Trek Difficulty Level Medium Kalsubai Trek Endurance Level HighBase Village Kalsubai Trek – BariMinimum Required – 6 paxRegion: Igatpuri / BhandardaraTotal time required for climbing Kalsubai Peak 4 hours one wayDuration 1 Night 1 DayClimbing Kalsubai Trek Distance 5.5 km one wayKalsubai Peak Height 1646 meters or 5400 feet above sea levelHighest Peak of Maharashtra Kalsubai Peak in feet 5400 feetLocated in Kalsubai Harishchandragad Wildlife SanctuaryCost: Rs. 1\,399/- per personCost: Rs. 699/- per person (Without Transport) \nKalsubai Monsoon Trek Itinerary \nDay Zero 07:45 pm – Meet us at McDonald`s\, Deccan.08:00 pm – Move towards base village. 08:20 pm – Pick up at New Shivaji nagar bus stop. 08:40 pm – Pick up at Nashik Phata. \nDay One03:00 am – Reach Bari village. SUMMARY:Kalsubai Trek from Pune - 30 December 2023
DESCRIPTION:CAUTION – This trip is not meant for people with low tolerance to cold. We will be camping at temperatures 20 degrees below zero. \nThe Snow Leopard expedition is a week-long program tracking the ghost leopard. The snow leopards are highly elusive by nature. Spotting them is a relatively rare occurrence earning them the name\, “Grey ghost of the Himalayas”. We will look out through the Hemis National Park\, which has the highest number of snow leopards in the world. Here the temperatures drop down to bone chilling -20 degrees at night. The trails are often steep and the viewpoints are windy. \nInteresting Facts – Snow leopards cannot roar? Instead\, they let out a slightly muffled cry – They are excellent leapers. Their long bushy tail helps them to move with perfect balance. – Bharal and Mountain goats are favorite food sources of a snow leopard. – During the mating season\, the call of female snow leopards can reach several kilometers. – They can carry prey 3 times their weight. – Snow leopards chew on a local plant called UMBU which helps them with indigestion and to clear their stomachs. \nDay 1-3: LehLeh sits at 11400 feet and we need to acclimatize slowly before going to a higher altitude.
