SUMMARY:Kille Koraigad - 26 July 2025
DESCRIPTION:About KoraigadKorigad Fort is located about 20 Km away from Lonavla\, in the Pune district. It is about 929 m above sea level. There are two routes to reach the top of Korigad\, one from the village PethShahpur and the other one from Ambavne village. Situated at an elevation of about 3000 feet from sea level\, the Koraigad fort was named after the goddess Koraidevi. Koraidevi Temple has been recently renovated and has a 3 feet high Deepmala. \nHistoryThis fort was forcibly taken over into his kingdom by Chhatrapati Shivaji along with the forts of Lohagad\, Visapur\, Tung\, and Tikona in 1657. On March 11\, 1818\, Colonel Prother tried to take over this fort but even after a prolonged siege could not make any headway. Finally on 14 March\, by igniting the stored ammunition by means of a loose cannonball he succeeded and this fort went to the British. \nTrek InformationType: Hill FortHeight: 3000 Feet above MSL (Approx)Grade: Easy ( 1hr Ascend)Base Village: Peth ShahapurEndurance Level: LowPrice Per Pax: Rs 1499 \nHighlightsEasy Trek For KidsIntact Ramparts And BastionsView Of Amby ValleyTwo Lakes On TopKoraidevi MandirCannonsDaru Kothar \nDay 0 24th June 202311:00 Meet the team @ Borivali National Park GatePickup points to be notated later \nDay 1 25th June 202302:30 AM: Reach base village and rest in the bus till daybreak05:30 AM: Wake up call and freshen up06:00 AM: Breakfast06:40 AM: With brief instructions start the trek.08:00 AM: Fort Exploration09:45 AM: Start descent11:30 AM: Reach base and have lunch01:30 PM: Start with our return journey05:00 PM: Reach Mumbai tentatively \nInclusions:Transportation by Pushback Private Vehicle.Toll /Permit /Parking /Jungle Entry Fees.Morning Tea & Breakfast Veg / Non-Veg LunchBasic First Aid \nExclusions:Anything which is not mentioned in the inclusionsMineral Water / Cold Drinks \nTrek Measures:◆ Keep emergency numbers handy◆ Wrap all your things in plastic in the haversack◆ Follow existing trails and do not stray away.◆ Equip yourself against pesky insects \nThings To Carry:● At least 2 liters of drinking water● Photo ID card● Some ready-to-eat food (plum cakes\, biscuits)● Poncho / Raincoat● Electoral/Tang powder/Glucose-D/salt● Power banks● Hand sanitizer / Extra Masks● Any personal medicines● Extra clothes to change post the trek● Good grip trekking shoes to avoid any falls or injuries \nRules:● In mountains & jungles\, smoking/spraying deodorants attract honeybees and one has to face a dangerous “honeybee attack” where survival of the person is difficult\, hence smoking/deodorants is strictly prohibited.● Drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited. SUMMARY:Kille Koraigad - 23 August 2025
\nTrek InformationType: Hill FortHeight: 3000 Feet above MSL (Approx)Grade: Easy ( 1hr Ascend)Base Village: Peth ShahapurEndurance Level: LowPrice Per Pax: Rs 1499 \nHighlightsEasy Trek For KidsIntact Ramparts And BastionsView Of Amby ValleyTwo Lakes On TopKoraidevi MandirCannonsDaru Kothar \nDay 0 11:00 Meet the team @ Borivali National Park GatePickup points to be notated later \nDay 1 02:30 AM: Reach base village and rest in the bus till daybreak05:30 AM: Wake up call and freshen up06:00 AM: Breakfast06:40 AM: With brief instructions start the trek.08:00 AM: Fort Exploration09:45 AM: Start descent11:30 AM: Reach base and have lunch01:30 PM: Start with our return journey05:00 PM: Reach Mumbai tentatively \nInclusions:Transportation by Pushback Private Vehicle.Toll /Permit /Parking /Jungle Entry Fees.Morning Tea & Breakfast Veg / Non-Veg LunchBasic First Aid \nExclusions:Anything which is not mentioned in the inclusionsMineral Water / Cold Drinks \nTrek Measures:◆ Keep emergency numbers handy◆ Wrap all your things in plastic in the haversack◆ Follow existing trails and do not stray away.◆ Equip yourself against pesky insects \nThings To Carry:● At least 2 liters of drinking water● Photo ID card● Some ready-to-eat food (plum cakes\, biscuits)● Poncho / Raincoat● Electoral/Tang powder/Glucose-D/salt● Power banks● Hand sanitizer / Extra Masks● Any personal medicines● Extra clothes to change post the trek● Good grip trekking shoes to avoid any falls or injuries \nRules:● In mountains & jungles\, smoking/spraying deodorants attract honeybees and one has to face a dangerous “honeybee attack” where survival of the person is difficult\, hence smoking/deodorants is strictly prohibited.● Drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited. These offer the most expansive and stunning views.\nFor a Unique Experience: Andharban (Dark Forest) Trek. A dense\, monsoon trail through a forest canopy\, or Sandhan Valley for a canyoning adventure.\nFor the Ultimate Beginner: Korigad Fort. Easy\, accessible\, and beautiful.\n\n\n\n6. One Day Trek Near Mumbai in Winter\nWinter (November to February) is the best season for trekking due to the clear skies and pleasant weather. \n\n\nKalsubai Peak: Winter offers the clearest views from the summit. You can see a sea of clouds below and a string of forts like Alang\, Madan\, Kulang\, and Ratangad on the horizon.\nHarishchandragad: The view from Konkan Kada is at its best in winter. Rajmachi Trek from Mumbai\nRajmachi is one of the most popular treks from Mumbai. Here’s a detailed guide. \n\nWhat is Rajmachi? It consists of two fortified peaks\, Shrivardhan (the larger one) and Manaranjan\, with a plateau and the village of Udhewadi nestled between them. \n\nHow to Reach from Mumbai: \n\n\n\nBy Train (Most Common): \n\nTake a local train from Mumbai (CST\, Dadar\, etc.) to Karjat or Lonavala.\nRoute 1 (via Lonavala – Easier): From Lonavala station\, take a shared tum-tum (auto-rickshaw) or an ST bus to Tungarli Dam. From here\, you can either walk the entire 15 km to Udhewadi village or hire a 4×4 vehicle (jeep) that goes part of the way.\nRoute 2 (via Karjat – More Scenic): From Karjat station\, take a shared tum-tum to the Kondhane village base. This route passes through a dense forest and the ancient Kondhane caves. It’s more beautiful but also more tiring.\n\n\n\nBy Own Vehicle: \n\nDrive on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and take the exit for Lonavala/Khandala.\nFollow your GPS to the base villages (either Tungarli near Lonavala or Kondhane near Karjat). Parking is available at the base.\n\n\n\n\nThe Trek & Difficulty: \n\nDifficulty: Easy to Moderate.\nDuration: 4-5 hours to reach the top\, depending on your pace and the route.\nThe trail from Lonavala is a wide\, motorable dirt path for most of the way. The route from Karjat is a proper forest trail.\n\n\nStay Options: You can easily find basic homestays and camping options in Udhewadi village at the top. It’s advisable to book in advance on weekends. Food is simple but delicious (local Maharashtrian cuisine). \n\nBest Time to Visit: \n\nMonsoon (June-Sep): For lush green landscapes and waterfalls.\nWinter (Oct-Feb): For pleasant weather and clear views.
