Rantangad Fort base village is Ratanwadi. Rantangad Fort is about 400 years old. Rantangad Fort was captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosle. Rantangad Fort is also known as Jewels of fort. Rantangad Fort is on the boundary of Ahmadnagar and Thane districts. The fort is origin for the river Pravara/Amrutvahini. The Bhandardara dam (arthar dam) is built on this river.
