DESCRIPTION:SHIVADNYA VENTURES ® organising  trek to RAIGAD FORT – स्वराज्याची राजधानी. \n Date: 25 June 2023 \n Charges: ₹1200 per head \n Brief Info:Raigad Fort is a magnificent hill fortress\, situated in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. It lies approximately 125km away from Pune and serves as one of the major excursions of the city. The fort once served as the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji\, the Great Maratha king\, in the 1674. Perched at an altitude of 1350m (4530 ft) above sea level\, Raigard Fort falls under the Sahyadri Mountain ranges of India. The main structures inside the Raigad Fort\, which today stands mostly in ruins\, comprise of the Queen’s Quarters\, the Public Durbar\, Watch Towers\, Darwazas (gateways)\, etc. \nWhile one a trek to Raigad Fort\, one can also be witness to the ruins of the three watch towers\, which were once used to spot any threat from a distance. The main entrance of the Raigard Fort comprises of the Maha Darwaja\, which is colossal and provided protection from the enemies. The three dark and deep chambers\, situated to right of the Palkhi Darwaja\, are believed to have served as the granaries of the fort. One of the main attractions of theRaigad Fort is a magnificent statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji\, sited opposite the ruins of the main market avenue. Rantangad Fort was captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosle. Rantangad Fort is also known as Jewels of fort. Rantangad Fort is on the boundary of Ahmadnagar and Thane districts. The fort is origin for the river Pravara/Amrutvahini. The Bhandardara dam (arthar dam) is built on this river. From the top of the fort neighboring forts like Alang\, kulang\, Madan gad\, Harishchandragad\, Patta are seen easily. The view of entire Bhandardara dam( Lake Arthur) gives sheer pleasure. This beauty of Mother Nature; located approx 640m above sea level; is situated in the Mulshi district of Maharashtra. It is from here that River Kundalika (famous for rafting) originates. During the trek one comes across several beautiful streams\, varied flora and wonderful views of the valley apart from the fresh natural air. The trek lasts for approx 12-14kms which involves easy walking on an uneven terrain. \nGrade: Easy.Endurance: Medium. \nWhy PARVAT BUDDIES?Extensive painstaking preparations have been carried out by our team of experienced leaders in planning and organising this trek for you. Our leaders are well versed with the terrain and have a trekking experience of about a decade in the Sahyadri. Rantangad Fort was captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosle. Rantangad Fort is also known as Jewels of fort. Rantangad Fort is on the boundary of Ahmadnagar and Thane districts. The fort is origin for the river Pravara/Amrutvahini. The Bhandardara dam (arthar dam) is built on this river. From the top of the fort neighboring forts like Alang\, kulang\, Madan gad\, Harishchandragad\, Patta are seen easily. The view of entire Bhandardara dam( Lake Arthur) gives sheer pleasure.
