DESCRIPTION:Starting from ₹11\,200 |15-Apr-2024 – 21-Apr-2024 \nThis trek is one of our favorites at Raahi Outdoors\, If you enjoyed the scenery in the film “Lord of the Rings” and have always wanted to visit\, now is your chance. You don’t need to invest a fortune or travel all the way to New Zealand to see all the sights; the trek to Har-ki-Dun will provide you with all of them and more! There are almost endless lush green meadows\, wild alpine flower gardens\, scraggy mountains\, majestic snow-capped peaks\, glaciers\, and gushing streams and waterfalls. To top it off\, this valley has a culture that is unlike any other mountain or plains area. It is fascinating\, ancient\, old\, and time-tested. Our guides make sure that we get a closer look at this culture\, as it is one of the trek’s highlights. The Govind Wildlife Sanctuary & National Park is located in the Garhwal Himalayas. We drive from Dehradun to Sankri\, a lovely village where we spend the first night\, and then a quick 40-minute drive the next day takes us to Taluka\, a small market town where we begin our journey. \nItinerary (Day Wise) \nDAY 1: Haridwar to Sankri (7-10 hr drive) (220Km Drive) \nWe’ll travel to Sankri. On the way\, we’ll stop for lunch. This is a pleasant drive along the Yamuna River at first\, and then along the beautiful Tons River at the end. Today’s drive has some especially lovely pine forest parts. When we arrive in Sankri\, we’ll check into the picturesque Campsite. Sankri is a slice of heaven on earth\, and we’ll take an evening stroll through this lovely hamlet to re-energize our muscles for the upcoming trek. Sankri is where you’ll spend the night. \n      Bus \n      Dinner \nDAY 2: Sankri to Puwani Garaat via Taluka (12.5km trek) (12Km Drive) \nWe begin the day with a quick\, scenic\, and adventurous drive to Taluka\, our trek’s starting point. Today’s hike takes you through lovely mixed forest and along the Supin River. The gradient is mild throughout\, with an occasional steep patch thrown in for good measure. This place has a very old and distinct culture that is luckily still preserved. Today\, you’ll get a really close and personal look at it. Puwani Garaat is where you’ll spend the night. \n      Bus \n      Breakfast\, Lunch\, Evening Snacks\, Dinner \nDAY 3: Puwani Garaat to Kalkatiyadhaar (6km trek) \nThe day starts with a hike to Osala Village. To do so\, we’d simply cross the bridge ahead and walk along the Supin River until we reached Osala. It is a small hamlet located at an elevation of 8.5K feet above sea level. Before moving on\, we’ll stop here for a while. Read Less The walk from here is very fun because it is relatively flat. For a while\, it may be a little steep\, but the breathtaking sight that awaits you can make up for it. In a 30-minute stroll\, we’ll cross two lakes. The second one is crossed by a wooden bridge. We’ll be facing a series of meadows in the front after crossing the bridge and traversing around the mountain curve.From here\, we have a 90-minute walk ahead of us\, which will take us on a thrilling hike through mountain bends\, cultivated lands\, and vast fields of boulders and knolls. A temporary wooden bridge can be found ahead\, and the Supin valley can be seen above it.Though the scenery is spectacular\, the ascent will become increasingly difficult from here. Our next campsite will be at 8\,956 feet in Kalkatiyadhaar. Kalkatiyadhaar is where you’ll spend the night \n      Breakfast\, Lunch\, Evening Snacks\, Dinner \nDAY 4: kalkatiyadhaar to Har ki Dun (5km trek) \nIn comparison to other days\, you will begin earlier today. However\, as captivating as the views were until today\, prepare to be wowed once more. The trail will lead to moraines and alpine meadows in the glacier basin. Every step you take will be greeted by tall pine trees. Read Less Until you reach the Har Ki Dun valley\, the trail is a combination of steep and moderate ascents. Snow patches and frozen waterfalls can be seen as you climb higher. Over the winter\, these areas are blanketed with snow. A valley is a heavenly place that exudes immense beauty in a single glance. The massive peaks of Swargarohini\, Hata Mountain\, Black Peak\, and others have breathtaking views. Also\, same day you will return to Kalkatiyadhaar and spend the night there. \n      Breakfast\, Lunch\, Evening Snacks\, Dinner \nDay 5: Back to Puwani Garaat from kalkatiyadhaar(6km Trek) \nFrom today onwards\, the trek is simply a return trip. We’ll retrace our steps via Oslo village to Puwani Garaat today. Here’s another opportunity to relive the happy villagers’ moments. Tell your goodbyes to them and the lovely sights that surround you.Return to the Puwani Garaat campsite by taking the same direction as before. Take advantage of the last few hours of nightlife in the mountains. \n      Breakfast\, Lunch\, Evening Snacks\, Dinner \nDay 6: Puwani Garaat to Sankri (12.5 trek) (12km Drive) \nThis morning\, a 5-hour trek to Taluka begins\, climbing down the familiar trail and stopping at familiar rest stops. The car sits at the end of the dirt lane\, ready to return to base camp. Pay close attention to the descending strategy. While climbing down causes less fatigue\, stressing your soles with large steps is not recommended. Sankri will show up at the appointed time for tea. \n      Breakfast\, Lunch\, Evening Snacks\, Dinner \nDay 7: Back to Haridwar \nThis is the last day of your trek. This day you will say goodby to your new friends\, our team and lovely memories. Orientation for the trek in the evening.• Overnight stay at Kasol base camp. \nDay 2: Trek to Grahan (7\,700 ft | 9 km | 5-6 hrs)• Commence the trek by 7 AM for Grahan Camp.• The trek to Grahan is easy and quite scenic with amazing forest landscapes.• Short acclimatization walk to explore the beautiful village of Grahan in the evening.• Overnight stay in tents at Grahan. \nDay 3: Grahan to Min Thach(11\,100 ft | 6 km | 6-7 hrs)• Commence the trek by 7 AM for Min Thach camp after breakfast.• The trek involves a moderate climb through some dense forest of Kanwar Wildlife Sanctuary and one can explore the beautiful flora and few unique birds specific to the valley.• It takes around 6 hours to reach Min Thach camp. • The Camp offers an amazing view of the Grahan valley and Nagaru cliffs can be seen from here. • Overnight stay in tents at Min Thach Camp. \nDay 4: Min Thach to Nagaru(12\,700 ft | 4 km | 5 hrs)• Commence the trek by 8 AM for Nagaru.• The day’s trek falls short but steep and goes above the tree line.• The trek starts with a moderate climb and then zig-zag to negotiate the steep climb of the valley until Camp.• Nagaru being at almost 3\,900 meters offers amazing views of the Parvati valley and Tosh Valley.• Overnight stay in tents at Nagaru. \nDay 5: Nagaru to Sar Pass to Biskeri Thach (13\,800 ft | 9 km | 8-9 hrs)• Start early by 4 AM for the pass to take advantage of hard snow. • The trek starts with a steep climb for an hour followed by 3 hours of the trek on an almost flat trail till the Pass.• The entire trek route to Biskeri Thach is covered with snow because of the high altitude.• The views from the pass are exhilarating and one can see the elevated peaks of Tosh valley.• The descent from the pass is almost via Glissade(snow slides) and is the most fun part of the trek.• Continue the descent for an hour more through beautiful rhododendron bushes until one reaches the vast green meadow of Biskeri.• Overnight stay in tents at Biskeri Thach. \nDay 6: Biskeri Thach to Barshaini (7\,800 ft | 6 km | 5 hrs)• Biskeri presents a sublime view of the pine forests\, the majestic mountains\, and the lovely grasslands. • The trek from Biskeri to Barshaini involves a moderate descent through a dense alpine forest.• Before reaching Barshini\, the trek goes via Pulga and then follows to cross Parvati river. • Jeep ride to Kasol from Barshini(90 minutes).• Departure from Kasol base camp by 5 PM. \n?
