This trek proves that by providing the most stunning views from the plateau on the top of the forts.Not just the views from the top\, the combination of dense forests\, rocks and boulders\, the caves\, water cisterns and the ancient writings on the rocks make this one of the most amazing treks that you can do in the entire Western Ghats \nItinerary:Friday(Day 1 ): 10.50 pm: Board into local train for Kasara and move towards the base of the forts. Saturday (Day 2): 3:30 am: Reach base village. After a fun introduction round\, start the trek to Alang fort making use of your torch.7:30 am: Enjoy the morning view of the traverse and the nearby fort\, Madan Fort and Kulang Fort. We will have breakfast and will explore the fort.8:30 am:  We will rappel down Alang Fort and will start the traverse towards Madan Fort. 3.00 pm: We will reach Madan Fort. It is also known as Vyaghragad. It’s believed that a disciple of Vasishtha\, a sage by the name Agasti\, came to reside on a mountain on the banks of river Koyana. He named the mountain after his mentor. Later the mountain was fortified and converted into a military station. This fort is so remote that rarely there used to be any military action here hence it was used as resting place for army which has returned from the war during Maratha era. \nThis trek is counted as one of the best treks in Sahyadri. Being situated in the Koyna WLS\, it offers amazing surprises for wildlife lovers.
