DESCRIPTION:Jivdhan Fort was built to protect the ancient trade route of Naneghat. It was considered to be an important pass as it was a gateway joining the mainland’s and the seas. It was heavily guarded at all times. The trekking route initially is covered in the dense forest leading to amazing views. You can spot many beautiful birds and wildlife around the fort \nNaneghat is a mountain pass\, it connects the Konkan Coast and Junnar town. Nane means “coin” and ghat means “pass”. As this path was used as a toll booth to collect toll from traders crossing the hills.
