Tringalwadi Monsoon Trek

ABOUT TRINGALWADI:

At the foothills of the fort is a Jain cave temple with a beautifully carved entrance and a stone idol of the first Jain Tirthankara Rishabhanatha in the garbha gruha (sanctum sanctorum). The cave has a large sabha mandapa (assembly hall). The western entrance to the fort is a unique structure of architecture. The steps and the entrance gate are carved from a single rock.

Although the exact period of construction of this fort is not known, however, by virtue of ‘Jain caves’ near the foothills, one can roughly estimate the fort to be in existence since 10th century. Also there is no evidence regarding the period during which it was under control of Marathas. In 1636 the Shahaji (father of king Shivaji) had to cede it to the Moghuls after the defeat at mahulifort. It is not known when Shivaji took control of this fort, but in 1688 this fort was won by Moghuls. It is one of the 16 forts which was surrendered to British in 1818 after the fall of Trymbakgad fort.

03:30 AM : Reach base village and rest in the bus.
05:30 AM : Wakeup call and quickly freshen up
06:30 AM : Get ready for the trek and have breakfast
07:00 AM : Start the trek with basic instructions and a group introduction
09:30 AM : Summit the fort and explore
11:00 PM : Start descent.
12:45 PM : Reach base village and quickly freshen up

● In mountains & jungles, smoking/spraying deodorants attract honeybees and one has to face a dangerous “honeybee attack” where survival of the person is difficult, hence smoking/deodorants is strictly prohibited.
● Drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited. If found will be expelled from the group.
● The leader’s decision will be final and binding.
● Sahasi Sahyadri reserves all the right to change/deviate/cancel the plans without prior notice.

● Please do not carry handbags or jholas or sling bags on treks.
● Please do not carry or wear any valuables, ornaments, jewelry, etc. If carried, then we do not take any liability for the same.

REFUNDS OR CANCELLATIONS:
● If cancellation is done prior to 7 days of the outing 75% will be refunded.
● If done prior to 3 days of outing 30% will be refunded.
● After that, no refund will be provided.
● If the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, participants have the option to adjust the paid amount with any forthcoming event or ask for a complete refund.
