Rajmachi Firefly Trek | Mumbai Mountain Hikers.

Rajmachi one of the place where we easily spot Firefly. Every year before monsoon we celebrate firefly festival. End of May and start of June fire fly are started to visible. There some location in Maharshtra Firefly are spotted and huge amount of people use to go for Firefly. Fire Fly belong to the Lampyridae family of insects. They have soft body. The female fly attract to Male fly for matting that is why they produce light.

Rajmachi Fort was a strategic fort which was made in 17th century by CHHATRPATI SHIVAJI MAHAJ. The height of the is about 2750 feet. Rajmachi has one of the most Ariel view from the top. Waterfall, Dam and green valley are sounded near the Rajmachi. There are two fort names is Manaranjan Fort The west part of the Rajmachi fortification is Manranjan Fort near the Rajmachi village. It was built to keep a watch on the plateau below the Manranjan hills.and other is The fort is in the eastern parts of Rajmachi town, Shrivardhan Fort is an ancient fort, which is closely associated with the Maratha rulers. The fort’s construction reflects Maratha style of architecture and the grand entrance of the Shrivardhan Fort is in semicircular shape. The fort covers charming Buddhist caves.The fort played a strategic role in the First Anglo-Maratha War. Rajmachi Fort has been declared as a protected monument.
