Peb Fort Trek

BAAN Hikers have arranged one day trek to Vikatgad via Matheran (Peb Fort) on 6th November 2022

About the place:
Fort Peb is situated on the Northeast side of Panvel, on Mumbai-Pune road & at a distance of 3-4 km on the west side of Neral. It is assumed that this fort derived its name Peb from the temple of “Goddess Pebi” at the base of the fort. The Fort is also known as “Vikatgad “. Historical references indicate that Shivaji Maharaj used the caves on the fort for storing grain.

Details for the trek are as follows :
Catch CST -Karjat Fast Train (CST 05:46, Dadar 05:59 Thane 06:25, Dombivli 06:41, Kalyan 06:50, Neral 07:27)
(Please carry your return ticket up to Karjat Station & get in the first compartment towards Karjat)
Travel time approx 2 hours.
07.30: We will reach Neral station.
07.30 – 08.30: Breakfast & tea at Neral.
08.30: Start travel from Neral by vehicle.
09.00: After the introduction session, start trekking via the Railway Track of Matheran
11.00: Reach Peb fort.
Explore the fort
01.00 to 02.00: Lunch
02.15: Start descending the fort.
05.00: Reach Matheran.
05.15 pm: Proceed to Neral by private vehicle
06.00: Catch return local to CST.
Trek Concludes with Happy Memories (please note above timings are tentative and may change due to unforeseen situations)

Things To Carry :
Rains are expected so pack your bags accordingly. Double pack valuables in polyethene.

· Lunch for a day
· Water 2 litres (must)
· Windcheater
· Shoes (Compulsory)
· A haversack to put in all the things to be carried. (No sling bags/ jholas please)
· Avoid wearing gold ornaments.
Trek Contribution: Rs. 500/- per person

It is up to the individual to arrange their own holiday / accident insurance & each adult would be asked to sign a liability waiver.
BAAN Hikers hold the right to change the venue, or date, of the event.
Event may be cancelled or postponed due to natural calamity, any system error.
In case event place or venue is changed, BAAN Hikers will notify same to participants by phone, web and Facebook, no change in costing will be charged.
In case of cancellation of event, MONEY will be returned to those who have enrolled, without any cutting.
All our treks are Eco-friendly treks; kindly take care of nature around us. Smoking and Drinking alcohol during trek is strictly prohibited if anyone found doing that will be expelled from trek without refund.
