Some Info about the place:
PAABARGAD (1349m/4425ft) is a mountain located in the Kalsubai-Harishchandragad Wildlife sanctuary. It is a rarely visited peak and offers unparalleled views of Wilson dam. Monsoon is a good time to visit this peak with Fog, winds and rain making it an enchanting trek. On this trek, nature lovers can experience untouched beauty of Mother Nature. Two minor rock patches give you a sense of thrill and adrenaline rush. Just below the summit, we find an open temple of Bhairavnath and a water pond. We also find a water tank with idol of Lord Hanuman carved next to it. There are a couple of caves below the summit which can accommodate a few people. This peak stands proudly alongside other towering mountains like Ghanchakkar, Mudha, Gawlidev, and Katrabai. One can see AMK Range and Mt. Kalsubai across the backwaters of Bhandardara when the sky is clear.

NOTE:
This trek is not meant for small kids and complete beginners. Fit individuals having good trekking shoes can attempt this trek under guidance of our experienced leaders. Prior trek experience would be helpful.

Extensive painstaking preparations have been carried out by our team of experienced leaders in planning and organising this trek for you. Our leaders are well versed with the terrain and have a trekking experience of about a decade in the Sahyadri. Your safety is our prime goal so rest assured that we will take good care of you during the trek. Our USP is that we prefer to trek in small sized groups so as to have a better bonding and interaction among our participants. The average group size of our events is around 15 people making our events much more enjoyable and memorable. We maintain a reasonable Leader to Participant ratio which is about 1:10 on an average. We also have a good number of female participants joining our events. On an average around 40% of our participants in the past have been females, proving that we are a gender friendly group. We always carry a basic first aid kit with us. We follow a ‘Leave No Trace’ Policy and try our best to leave a minimum possible impact on our ecology while conducting the treks. We respect the Mountains and follow a set of rules to ensure discipline in our outdoor activities.

Tentative Itinerary:

Assembly: 2:45PM on Saturday, 20th August 2022.
Exact Location for assembly & pick-up points will be communicated upon registration.

1500 hrs: Start journey in Pvt Non-AC vehicle.
1830 hrs: Halt for Dinner.
1930 hrs: Resume journey for base village.
2130 hrs: Reach base and settle in tents.
Sunday, 21st August 2022
0500 hrs: Wake up call. Freshen up.
0600 hrs: Breakfast & Briefing.
0630 hrs: Start Trekking.
0930 hrs: Reach Summit
1100 hrs: Start descending.
1400 hrs: Reach base village, freshen up and have Lunch.
1530 hrs: Start journey for Mumbai.
1730 hrs: Halt for Tea.
2130 hrs: Reach Mumbai.

Things you should carry (COMPULSORY):
In order to have an enjoyable time in the outdoors, one needs to be well equipped with the following things:

1] Identity Proof.
2] Rucksack (~30/40L) (preferably with rain-cover).
3] TREKKING SHOES (must be in good condition) (Carry extra pair of socks and laces)
4] TORCH / HEADLAMP with extra batteries.

Food & Hydration
5] Personal WATER Bottle/WATER Bladder (at least 2 litres)
6] Light SNACKS like biscuits, energy bars, candies, dry fruits & nuts, ORS, some juicy fruits as per your liking.

Clothing & Accessories
7] Wear Full length track-pants & full sleeves Shirt (preferably dry-fit) to protect oneself from insects, thorns, cold and sunburn. Wear Clothing which allows flexibility in movement.
8] Extra pair of clothing, lightweight towel, and flip-flops.
9] WINDCHEATER, CAP / HAT.

Miscellaneous
10] Small garbage bag to dump wrappers, tissues etc.
11] Dry-bag to store your used clothes & Shoes.
12] Personal Medicines

Optional (recommended):
• Trekking pole.
• Small Knife, Whistle, Matchbox, Feviquik, Diary & pen.
• Camera.
• Umbrella.

Deadline for registrations & payment: 4pm, 18th August 2022 (Thursday).

Group Size: Min 9 & Max 14

(The event is subject to minimum participation. If the minimum participation criterion isn’t met, we shall travel from/to Kasara Rly Station in private non-AC Vehicles. In such a case the cost would be Rs.1800/- non-refundable and event would be subject to minimum 6 participants)
