History :
Tandulwadi is a hilltop fort which offers a great view of the confluence of rivers Vaitarna and Surya. Tandulwadi fort is situated about 5 km from Saphale Railway Station. This fort is one of the most beautiful spot for mumbaikars to visit in one day. In thirteenth century, King Bhimdevs kingdom comprised the cities of Shurparak (Nalasopara) and Mahikawati (Mahim). In 1454, Sultan of Ahmedabad captured Mahikawati. One Bhadurshah conferred the responsibility of Tandulwadi to a Mallik Allauddin. Later the fort was in the hands of Portuguese and then the Peshwas. There are remains of the fortification & a square shaped water pond as we reach to the top. On this fort one can find herbs with medicinal values and different species of birds. It is located between forests and offers a thrilling climb in the last 45 minutes of the trek.

– Personal care stuff, Glucose Powder, ORS, medicines which you require usually
– A haversack to put all the things in, please do not carry sling bags, trolly bags or jholas

2 Trek Leader’s decision will be final and binding to everyone
3 Participants are responsible for his/her own safety and baggage
4 There is a freshen up / washroom facility at the base village.
5 Avoid carrying heavy weight for the trek
6 Do not carry laptops, expensive gadgets & gold ornaments etc.
7 Floaters and Sandals are not allowed, please wear sports shoes or trekking shoes of good quality
8 All the timings mentioned above are tentative
9 The said activity is not a picnic but a guided history trek
