Needle hole is called Nakhind in Marathi. Many mountains in Sahyadri which are made of basalt have formed natural holes in it due to wind, rain and other natural conditions. One such Nakhind is near Vangani. Hike from the base village of Bedis takes approximately one hour to reach Waghachi wadi. From there another one hour hike takes us to Nakhind.
After coming back to Waghachi wadi if participants are interested we can descend to Dodhani side.
Itinerary
Sunday 19 Jan
Board 0610 am CSMT Karjat fast reaching Vangani 0743am. Please check your station timing in m-indicator. Have breakfast at Vangani station and proceed to Bedis by auto. Ascend to Nakhind via Waghachi wadi and return to Vangani the same way.
In case participants are interested we can descend to Dodhani and return to Panvel.

Bedis to Nakhind to Bedis- 7 km, ascend 470 meters, descend 470 meters
Bedis to Nakhind to Towerwadi – 12 km, ascend 470 meters, descend 470 meters
Trek fee – Rs. 600 including breakfast, transport from Vangani to Bedis, Return transport to Vangani / Panvel, basic first aid and expertise.
