This trek is often regarded as one of the most beautiful winter treks in Maharashtra, offering a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and rich biodiversity of the region. The adventure begins at Naneghat, a historical site known for its ancient trade routes and mesmerizing views. From there, the trail leads you towards Ahupe, where you will encounter the majestic Dhakoba and Durg Kokanada.

On the later days of your journey, the trail takes you through the batti near Khondaval, where you will have the chance to observe fascinating rock patterns that signify the ancient trail once traveled by traders and travelers. These geological formations tell a story of the region’s history and add a layer of intrigue to your hike. This trek is undoubtedly a fantastic way to conclude your 2024, providing you with three unforgettable days spent in the majestic mountains. If you are an ardent trekker and have a passion for exploring the Sahyadri mountain ranges, this trek should undoubtedly be at the top of your wishlist.

Bhimashankar, your final destination, is not only a significant pilgrimage site but also one of the 12 Jyotirlingams in the country, attracting devotees and nature enthusiasts alike. The Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, known for its rich flora and fauna, is a highlight of this trek. If luck is on your side, you may even catch a glimpse of the elusive Shekru, or Indian Giant Squirrel, which is a unique species residing in this sanctuary. The sanctuary’s diverse ecosystem is home to a variety of wildlife, making it a paradise for nature lovers and wildlife photographers.
