About Vasota Fort:
Also known as Vyaghragad, this fort offers a serene escape into nature. It served as a resting base for the Maratha army and is now one of the most sought-after treks in the Sahyadri range. Trekking through the dense forest, you’ll discover its historical charm, natural beauty, and the thrill of exploring an untamed wilderness.
Trek Itinerary:
Departure:
Saturday, 5:00 AM – Start from Pune
Arrival:
Same Day, 11:00 PM – Return to Pune
Trek Schedule:
Saturday:
5:00 AM: Begin journey from Pune after pickups.
7:30 AM: Enjoy breakfast en route.
10:00 AM: Arrive at Bamnoli, secure forest permissions, and start a 1.5-hour boat ride.
11:30 AM: Reach the Vasota forest base and start trekking towards Vasota Fort.
1:30 PM: Reach the top of Vasota Fort and explore its history and surroundings.
2:00 PM: Break for packed lunch.
3:00 PM: Visit Babu Kada cliff and soak in the breathtaking views.
4:00 PM: Start the return trek to the base.
5:30 PM: Return to Bamnoli via boat, followed by dinner at a local restaurant.
6:30 PM: Begin the journey back to Pune.
10:00 PM: Reach Pune (timing may vary by an hour).
