Meghalaya, the abode of clouds, is famous for rainforests, root bridges, clean rivers, large unexplored caves and bamboo crafts. It has gorgeous waterfalls including the Nohkalikai falls i.e. the highest single plunge waterfall of India.
Sunday
Reach Guwahati in morning and travel to Shillong (5hrs)
Monday
Mawryngkhang bamboo trek
It is considered one of the thrilling treks of the North-East. Starting from a small hamlet in the East Khasi Hills, it takes places over a series of connected bamboo bridges that are laid out by the villagers over mountain ridges, farms, and roaring rivers.
Tuesday
We will visit Dawki, a tiny hamlet on the border of India and Bangladesh. We will take a boat ride on the crystal clear waters of Umngot river.
In Afternoon, we will go to Mawlynnong i.e. Asia’s cleanest village.
Wednesday
Cherrapunji Sightseeing
We will get to witness the 1000 metre plunge of Nohkalikhai Falls (includes an hour trek)
Post lunch we will take a dip in the beautiful and clean step waterfalls of Wei Sawdong.(half hour trek)
Thursday
We will trek to the world famous double decker root bridge of Meghalaya. This bridge is formed by weaving the roots of trees which are over 1000 years old.
The Rainbow Waterfall is a gorgeous waterfall, which is 2hours hike from the root bridge. In the afternoon, the sunlight from the west triggers a rainbow on these waterfalls.
Friday
We trek back to Cherrapunji.
In Afternoon we will visit the famous Arwah caves.
In evening we can do shopping in the Shillong market famous for bamboo crafts.
Saturday
We will visit the famous Shillong peak which is the highest peak of Meghalaya offering stunning views of the city. Later, drive from Shillong to Guwahati airport.
Preferred flight from Guwahati is Spicejet SG-8169 reaching Mumbai at 22:00

You need to pay Rs.12,000 advance for booking the trip. Remaining amount can be paid in cash during the trip.

Rs.6000 – one month prior to trip

Things to be carried
Compulsory:
– ICard and 2 photocopies of Icard
– Windproof Jacket, pullovers etc.
– Sport shoes or trekking shoes. Extra pair of sleeper or sandal
– Umbrella and bag cover
– At least two personal water bottles all the time during trip
– Personal medical kit, soap, paste etc.
– Carry one small bag to carry necessary things while roaming in the daytime. It should ideally fit inside your main luggage
Recommended but not compulsory:
– Sunscreen, sunglasses, cap etc.
– One bedsheet (if you are concerned about the hygiene)
– Dry fruits, Energy bars etc.
– Travel pillow
FAQs
Food: Both veg and non-veg food will be available. Most of the time you will have to eat rice. You are requested to keep healthy food backups like dry fruits, energy bars etc. Kindly avoid carrying junk foods like chips, fried foods, cream biscuits etc.
Drinking and smoking: Strictly prohibited.
Timing: We need to follow “very early to bed and very early to rise”. We won’t wait for you if you are late in morning and you may have to incur extra expenses for your travel.
