Mardangad is a lesser known fort on a small hill in Aware village near Uran. The fort is placed at an important location to keep on eye and control the movement of ships from Amba and Patalganga rivers routes. Until recently it was in a divested state which is being conserved by trek and history groups. The area of the fort and nearby temple appears magical and will make you spellbound.
Itinerary
Reach Uran bus depot by 8am. You can take the Nerul Uran local train starting at 0710am from Nerul. There are regular buses to Uran from Panvel and Belapur / Nerul. We shall return to Uran by 3pm.
What you need to bring
We can have breakfast near the Uran bus stand. Bring 2 liters of water, Lunch, Hat, Hiking pole if you have one.
Trek fee is Rs. 500 including local transport from Uran to base village and return, basic first aid and expertise.
