About Manikgad Fort:
Gherakilla Manikgad, a hill fort situated 27 km from Panvel among the rolling hills. Home to a popular temple famous among hikers. Manikgad Fort Trek near Vashivali Rasayani MIDC. Manikgad Fort established to guard and command the commerce route from seaside harbours to Maval Pune. Sarkhel Kanhoji Angre built Manikgad Killa, Peshavas ceded Manikgad to him in 1718.
Itinerary:
Sunday 2nd July 2023
5.30 am: Start from Pune
7 am: Breakfast on the way
8.30 am: Reach Base Village, Pack the Lunch and get ready for Trek
9.15 am: Start trek to Manikgad
12.45 pm: Reach Manikgad Top,
Lunch, Explore surrounding Shiva Temple, Ganesh Darwaja, Water tanks, Fortification and Photography
2 pm: Start Descent
5.30 pm: Reach Base,
6 pm: Starts return journey
7 pm: Tea and Snacks on the way
Reach Pune by 08.30 pm with lot of memories
