About Trek:
Lingya Ghat Trek is a cross-country trek that follows an old trade route connecting the Sahyadri Western Ghat village of Dhamhanhol with the Konkan village of Umbardi. This trek is notable for an unknown massive waterfall encountered while ascending.
Kurdugad:
Kurdugad Fort, also known as Vishramgad, is believed to have been developed during the reign of Shivaji Maharaj with the involvement of his Sardar, Baji Pasalkar. Later, the fort came under the control of the Peshavas. During British rule, it fell into obscurity until Shri. Dattoba Pasalkar, a descendant of Baji Pasalkar, brought it back to attention.
At the base of the Vishramgad hill are the temples of Devi Kurdai and Kurdeshwar Mahadev. The fort is sometimes referred to as Kurdugad, derived from the name of the base village, Kurdu Peth. On the way to the fort, there is a water cistern. The northern entrance of the fort features a bastion called Hanuman Buruj, named after the large idol of Hanuman nearby. The fort also has a gorge and a cliff, with some water tanks that are now filled with soil. A pinnacle near the southern end, separated by a col, provides excellent views of the Konkan valleys.
Nisanichi Vaat:
Nisanichi Vaat is another cross-country old trade route that connects the Sahyadri Western Ghat village of Dhamanhol with the Konkan villages of Umbardi and Jite. This route is steeper and shorter compared to Lingya Ghat.
Itinerary:
Sunday – 28th July 2024
5.30am – Start the journey from Pune
8.30am – Reached base Village and have breakfast.
9.15am – Start trek to Kurdugad via Nisani chi Vaat
11.30am – Reach Kurdugad top & Explore, Enjoy the beautiful views
01.00pm – Packed Lunch at the base of Fort
02.00pm- Start return Trek via Lingya Ghat
03.00pm – Enjoy Waterfalls enroute
05.00pm – Return to Base Village, Tea & Snacks and Start return Journey
08.00pm – Reach Pune (Tentative)
