About Tikona (Vitangad)
Tikona Fort, also renowned as Vitandgad fort, is a major hill fort in the Maval region near the Lonavala. Tikona Fort, literally means triangle fort, had witnessed many dynasties ruled in the Maratha region. This was the nerve center of the many activities of the entire Maval Pawna region. The small hamlet close to the fort is the Tikona path. The fort’s mammoth entrance is a special attraction. The Tikona fort is a great trekking destination for adventurous tourists.
One can get eye-catching views of the Pawna Dam and the forts at Visapur, Tung, and Lohagad. The fort encloses a lake, Satvahan caves, and the temple of ‘Trimbakeshwar Mahadev’. The fort was built during the Sahara dynasty. There is a temple on top of the peak. The view of the Pawna dam, Kathingad, and valleys from the top is breathtaking. The hill is pyramidal in shape and the name Tikona means “triangular”.

ITINERARY:
5:15 AM: Report at Borivali National Park Gate
Reporting time for pick up from Malad, Goregaon, Andheri, Bandra, Sion, Chembur, Vashi, Nerul, Kharghar, Kalamboli McD would be between 5:30AM – 6:30AM anywhere on the highway.
09:00 AM: Reach base village & have fresh hot Breakfast and Tea
09:30 AM : Start our trek to Tikona
10:30 AM: Summit the fort and relax, click pictures, and have some refreshments self carried (no littering)
11:30 AM: Start descending to base village by the same route
12:30 PM: Reach base village, get on the bus as we head to our restaurant for a delicious chulha cooked lunch
01:00 PM: Reach restaurant, get fresh, and have lunch
03:00 PM: Board bus and start our return journey back to Mumbai
07:00 PM: Reach Mumbai tentatively.

Wear a mask throughout the bus journey
Maintaining social distance with others is mandatory throughout the trip.
Buses will be fully sanitized before use.
Carrying your own sanitizers, gloves, face shield and mask is compulsory.

RULES:
● In mountains & jungles, smoking/spraying deodorants attract honeybees and one has to face a dangerous “honeybee attack” where survival of the person is difficult, hence smoking/deodorants is strictly prohibited.
● Drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited. If found will be expelled from the group.
● The leader’s decision will be final and binding.
● Sahasi Sahyadri reserves all the right to change/deviate/cancel the plans without prior notice.
● Telephonic confirmation for booking is mandatory; if unable to contact us then send a text message and we will call you back.
● Please do not carry handbags or jholas or sling bags on treks.
● Please do not carry or wear any valuables, ornaments, jewelry, etc. If carried, then we do not take any liability for the same.
● Trekking Shoes (Action Trekking or Coaster CTR Shoes are recommended, Avoid Forclaz/Quechua/Running/Other Sports Shoes for Treks in Maharashtra)
REFUNDS OR CANCELLATIONS:
● If cancellation is done prior to 7 days of outing 75% will be refunded.
● If done prior to 3 days of outing 30% will be refunded.
● After that, no refund will be provided.
● If the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, participants have the option to adjust the paid amount with any forthcoming event or ask for a complete refund.
