About Makrandgad
The fort is also known as Madhu Makarandgad as it is believed to be consisting of two different forts Madhu and Makarandgad respectively. The peak of the mountain is known as Madhu Shikhar which is the main attraction point. There are temples of Bhairoba and Mallikarjun on the top of the hill. The top provides the views of Mahabaleshwar and Pratapgad on the North-Eastern side and forts of Rasalgad, Sumargad and Mahipatgad on the eastern side. The fort is surrounded by the famous forest of Javli. The fort also provides a view of the backwaters of Koyna and Shivsagar dams. On the eastern side of the fort there is one water cistern in the cave.

ABOUT PRATAPGAD
Pratapgad is a fort constructed by Chatrapati Shri Shivaji Maharaj in the forest near Mahabaleshwar after defeating More of Javli in the year 1656 AD. It is recognized as one of the gems of Swarajya. The fort has got a historical significance as the world-famous battle between Shivaji Raje and Afzal Khan took place at the base of the fort. At the Paar village, at the base of Pratapgad is an ancient temple if Shri Ram Vardayini devi.The fort is currently owned by Udayan Rajebhosale, who is the 13th descendant of Shivaji Maharaj.

Day 0 Friday
10:00 pm Meet the team @Borivali National Park and rest pick-ups on the way.
Day 1 Saturday
05:00 am Reach homestay and freshen up
06:00 am Breakfast followed by a quick round of introduction and instructions
06:45 am Start the trek to Makrandgad ( Decision to be made in the majority if we can cover through a shorter route)
08:45 am Summit the fort and explore it.
09:45 am Start the descent
11:30 am Reach base village and head to the homestay for a delicious veg lunch.
12:15 pm Lunchtime and post-lunch take a break for an hour to rejuvenate
01:30 pm Board bus for Pratapgad Fort
02:30 pm Start the trek to Pratapagad
04:00 pm Summit the fort and explore it.
06:00 pm Witness a mesmerizing sunset.
06:30 pm Start descent (Keep torches handy preferably head torches to keep hands free while trekking)
07:45 pm Reach base and board bus for homestay.
08.30 pm Reach homestay freshen up
09:30 pm Dinner time veg only
10:30 pm Bonfire time to share feedback / or lights out.
Day 2 Sunday
05:00 am Wake up call and freshen up quickly
05:45 am Board bus for Mahabaleshwar (Breakfast en route)
07:30 am Reach Mahabaleshwar (Bus will halt a designated pay park facility (Exploration Time 3 Hours)
Participants need to cover the requisite points throughout on their own and report back in 3 hours as instructed.
10:45 am Board bus for homestay again.
11:45 am Reach homestay freshen pack your bags and keep them ready
12:30 pm Lunch will be served (veg/nonveg)
01:30 am Board bus for Mumbai ( Will halt for tea/coffee break en route)
08:45 PM Reach Mumbai tentatively with good memories.

STAY OPTION
Private rooms at a resort nearby can be arranged if participants are not comfortable with the homestay option at an additional cost subject to availability for the weekend.

RULES:
● In mountains & jungles, smoking/spraying deodorants attract honeybees and one has to face a dangerous “honeybee attack” where survival of the person is difficult, hence smoking/deodorants is strictly prohibited.
● Drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited. If found will be expelled from the group.
● The leader’s decision will be final and binding.
● Sahasi Sahyadri reserves all the right to change/deviate/cancel the plans without prior notice.
● Telephonic confirmation for booking is mandatory; if unable to contact us then send a text message and we will call you back.
● Please do not carry handbags or jholas or sling bags on treks.
● Please do not carry or wear any valuables, ornaments, jewelry, etc. If carried, then we do not take any liability for the same.
TIME TO UNWIND:
There are important things that need to be taken care of traveling like:
1) HYDRATE YOURSELF!
Drink water as traveling dehydrates you. Travel gets you off your normal routine. So, keep drinking water throughout the day to keep yourself healthy during your travel.
2) USE SUNSCREEN GENEROUSLY
It does not matter whether you are on a desert destination or on the beach or in the city, sunscreen is always a must. Find a good moisturizer with SPF in it to just wear it.
3) PACK WHAT YOU NEED
Different people have different packing options. Pack how you would like to pack and have no regrets.
However, take care not to go overboard as there are weight limits one can carry.
REFUNDS OR CANCELLATIONS:
● If cancellation is done prior to 10 days of outing 75% will be refunded.
● If done prior to 3 days of outing 50% will be refunded.
● After that, no refund will be provided.
● If the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, participants have the option to adjust the paid amount with any forthcoming event or ask for a complete refund.
