Kaas Plateau is situated in Satara district. This Plateau is famous as a Valley of flowers of Maharashtra. We can see range of wild flowers, herbs, orchids, shrubs etc. We can see more than 850 species of Flowers in this plateau in late Monsoon. Many species are still new to the Botanical Science.
39 species are found in kaas region only. Plateau seems to change the colors after every 15 – 20 days as cycle of flowering plants progresses with the monsoon progress.
Ajinkyatara (3300Ft) is also known as Fort of Satara. Chhatrapati Shahu maharaj’s coronation took place on this fort.
What to see on Ajinkyatara …..
• Lord Shiva and Hanuman Mandir, Manglai Devi Mandir
• Palace of Tara Rani, A big Storeroom
• Bastions of the fort well in condition.
• Three Lakes, Remains of old structure
Sajjangad (3350Ft) is the final resting place of Samarth Ramdas Swami.
Thoseghar waterfall is way beyond our expectation. It is Majestic, safe and well maintained.
Trek Schedule:
• First pick up 6 am Borivali station E near AC 700 bus stop on 10th Sept.
• Second pick up 7 am Nahur Station Platform near bridge.
• In the evening, we will cover Kaas Plateau then proceed to our hotel.
• We will explore Ajinkytara fort in the morning. Then proceed to Sajjangad
• After explore Sajjangad fort till noon we will proceed to Thoseghar.
• We will return Mumbai around 10:30 pm on Sunday 11th September.
