Jivdhan is a hill fortress situated 1 km near the modern day town of Ghatghar in Junnar Taluka of Pune district in Maharashtra, India. The fort, which rises 1,145 meters above sea level, is located in the Sahyadri mountain range. Jivdhan is a part of the ‘Famous 5’ trekking destinations among trekking enthusiasts.The whole range of these forts originated during the rule of Satvaahan era. This is clear from the entrances carved out in stone. The fort stands at an important position and most important guard of Naneghat. It was under Bahmani control and after that it went to Nizamshah.In 1818, the British captured all the forts here and destroyed them.

Naneghat is a mountain pass situated at an elevation of 2600 feet. The trek is famous for its ancient pass it connects the Konkan Coast and Junnar town. Naneghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range near Junnar in Pune district of Maharashtra. Nane means “coin” and ghat means “pass”. As this path was used as a toll booth to collect toll from traders crossing the hills. From the inscriptions in the caves indicate that Satavahana dynasty ruled here and also the Mauryan Empire.
