Fireflies Special Kothaligad Trek & Camping is one of the easy and famous treks in premonsoon period, because of its small height and easy climbing. Kothaligad is a small funnel fort near Karjat (Maharashtra). The fort is also called “Peth Fort” because of its vicinity to Peth village. Unlike other funnel hill forts, the pinnacle or the funnel is carved from the inside, forming a circular staircase that reaches the top. The superlative view from the top of the pinnacle combined with this unique and awe-inspiring engineering feat definitely deserves a visit.

( Day 01 Saturday )
Catch CSMT- Karjat Train on night as per below schedule
Mumbai CSMT: 04:30 pm
Dadar: 04:43 pm
Kurla: 04:50 pm
Ghatkopar: 04:54 pm
Thane: 05:10 pm
Kalyan: 05:30 pm
Neral: 06:08 pm

Meeting point :
Neral Railway Station
Timing : 06:20 pm

06:30 pm – Regroup at neral station middle & walk to parking. Local share taxi drop us at ambivali village from where our trek start.
08:30 pm – Get ready to start stroll through jungle trail & while witnessing fireflies towards pethmachi
10:00 pm Dinner & Enjoy Tent Camping with Bornfire.

( Day 02 Sunday )

05:00 am – Wakeup call have tea and get quick freshen-up.
06:45 am – Reach Kothaligad stop
07:30 am – Witness memorizing sunrise and descend back to village. have a breakfast and tea.
09:30 am – Reach ambivali village from where vehicle drop at neral station.
11:30 am Reach at Neral Railway station.
Trek end with happy memories.

(Compulsory & Keep it handy)
2) Good grip shoes, extra Sliper (Compulsory)
3) A bottle of water (2 ltr) compulsory
4) camera(optional), Avoid wearing Gold and other jewelry(at own risk)
5) Personal medicine & plastic bag, odomas or same brand, Torch, Rainkot
6) Extra pair of cloths if required by you. (Double Wrap in plastic bag avoid drenched)
7) Any one original photo ID proof
8) Some ready eat food like plum cake, biscuits, fruits,Paratha/Thepala/Boiled Eggs etc,Glucon-D or Electrol
9) Full Sleeves T-Shirt & Full Trek Pant.

Things To Keep In Mind
Expect sluggish conditions at places around because you would be visiting it soon after the rainfall (most probably!). Mind your surroundings. Don’t flash a torch at a tree full of fireflies. They go mad upon seeing the light.
The worms are not warm, they emit light because of the phenomenon called bioluminescence. So when they sit on you, allow them to walk. Don’t get scared.

Stay : In case it rains Home stay will be provided instead of tent stay depends on Rain
