Early Summer is the perfect time of year to gather under the stars and observe some of Tennessee’s most spectacular insects: fireflies! Old Stone Fort is home to thousands of fireflies that light up our fields and forests. Join the Park Rangers for on June 9th at 8:00pm to observe these magnificent insects in the wild, discuss the types of nocturnal creatures that call Old Stone Fort home, and enjoy time under the stars!
This event will be open to only 40 participants to ensure the best experience possible. We will meet at the top of the museum and head out to the enclosure field to observe the spectacular views! Please bring bug spray, water, and wear comfortable clothes. Feel free to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on!
All proceeds and donations from the program go toward supporting the park’s educational and conservation efforts.
