Dudhsagar hike – Rail route through paradise

One of India’s five highest waterfalls, Dudhsagar is situated on the boundary between Goa and Karnataka, around 60 kilometres from Goa. Dudhsagar Waterfall, which has a height of about 310m (1017ft) and a width of about 100ft, exhibits a powerful force of nature and is a sight to behold. Due to its captivating natural beauty and spectacular surroundings, this magnificent waterfall is best visited on the late monsoon season.

Two days and two nights plan summary:

Pune to Dudhsagar via Kolhapur highway Departure via Private bus AC Push back seat
Time: Friday night 8:00 pm (Sept 30th)
Pick up at: Blue Nile Restaurant and exit via Swargate (Please check with us for pick up points)
Arrive in Pune: Sunday Night 9:00 pm (Oct 2nd)
Bus will be available with us throughout the journey except the hike.

Meals Veg and Non Veg :
Day 0 – Travel at night – no meals
Day 1 Evening tea/ packed snacks and dinner
Day 2 Breakfast and Lunch with bottled drinking water (Carried on the bus)

*Non veg dinner can be provided at additional INR 100 for chicken INR 150 for fish (Set meals only).

Permission: To acquire permissions for trekking in Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary we need photo id and COVID 19 vaccination certificate or RTPCR to be carried along.

Safety, Technical assistance during trek, First-Aid: Acquired

Adult cost: INR 5600/- double occupancy
Adult cost: INR 5100/-triple occupancy, booking for a group of 3 required.
Minimum age 12 years

This trip has a comfortable one night stay in Old Goa at the GTDC Heritage View Residency’s cottage with twin and triple sharing options. We travel in a comfortable AC Bus with recliner seat which will be with us throughout the journey.

We take special care of safety & the right preparations for all our trips, and on this trek we will be getting permissions to trek in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary plus certified guides will be leading us to the base of the waterfall.

Trip Itinerary

Sept 30th

Pick up location: Blue Nile restaurant (Pune Camp)
Time: 8:00pm- 8:40pm Exit Pune.
Overnight journey

Saturday Oct 1st (morning)

Breakfast en-route before reaching Kulem
Freshen up at Kulem at a well maintained facility for using washrooms or toilets.

Reach Kulem Railway station and prepare for a jungle hike to Dudhsagar waterfalls, approximate distance is 10 km.

Return to Kulem and proceed towards GTDC Cottages where we will have our stay for the night.

Reach lodge – refresh and prepare for dinner.

Sunday Oct 2nd morning

8:30 am Breakfast and leave for Pune

Stop for Lunch on the way

Return back to Pune on Sunday night by 9:00 pm

Trip excludes:

• Optional travel to Dudhsagar waterfall base by jeep.

Things to carry: Its monsoon season, be prepared to get wet in the rains.

IMPORTANT:
Please take care of all your belongings, you can leave your bags in the bus during the trek, it will be kept very safe.
Notify us immediately in case of any medical emergency.
We do not provide and encourage carrying any alcoholic drinks or substance; you will be at your own responsibly to leave the trek if found under any influence, without any refund.
Adventure camping and outdoor sports/ recreation is purely for nature lovers and not for party groups; we respect nature and do our best to spread the awareness about wilderness preservation.
Historic forts hold pride and valor for those who ruled there and we request you to show some respect by not indulging in any activity that will be disrespectful towards the historic figures and the present community living there.
Be sure that you are responsible for your own personal belongings
We like to keep the wildlife wild; please do not litter the forest trails or the campsite.
