Save as PDFMaharashtra Government has declared the northern part of Thane Creek as Flamingo Sanctuary. This is the state’s second marine sanctuary after Malvan.
About 200 species of birds have been reported in this area, which includes Greater Spotted Eagle, Osprey, Pied Avocet, Western Reef Heron, Black headed Ibis, Marsh Sandpiper, Common Greenshank, Brown headed Gull, Whiskered Tern, Caspian Tern, Eurasian Marsh Harrier and Kingfishers etc.

Program Schedule:
• Sunday 2 April 2023 – Gather at Nahur Pumping Bus Stop at 7:00 am
• We will do birding till boating point (45 Min Walk).
• We will take a boat ride through the sanctuary (45 min to 1 Hour )
• Return back to Nahur Station at 11:30 am
Contribution per person is Rs. 800/-*
(This includes Binocular Sharing one by two, Snacks, Entry and Boat Ride cost).
