About :
Mahipatgad – Mahipatgad is located near Khed is one of the largest forts of Maharashtra with an area of 120 acres. Sumargad, Rasalgad and Mahipatgad are situated on a same spur 8 km long. Mahipatgad is on the northernmost end of the spur. Beldarwadi village is the base village of Mahipatgad. This fort was built by Adilshah of Bijapur in the 15th century. This fort was captured by King Shivaji Maharaj in 1661. Later it passed to the Peshwas and finally to the British in 1818.
Rasalgad- This fort has been developed somewhere in ancient times. The known history of the fort starts from the time of Shivaji when it was first in the territory of More of Javli from whom Shivaji Maharaj won this fort. Afterwards the fort changed hands from Peshawas to British in 1818.
Sumargad – Sumargad is a less visited fort in Ratnagiri district. This fort lies east of the Khed. It is about 19 kilometres (12 mi) from Khed City. There are no human settlements around the fort. There are two ways to reach Sumargad one; is from Mahipatgad and the other one from Rasalgad. The trek to this fort is through remote forest area. Very less history is known about this fort.

Day : 0, Friday, 19th August 2022, 11.00PM
11.20 PM : Catch Konkan kanya Express Mumbai Csmt to Khed (Sleeper Coach)
DAY 01 – Saturday, 20th August 2022
03.30 AM – Reach Khed railway station
04:00 AM – Depart to Mahipatgad base village by a Private Vehicle.
05:00 AM – Reach Base Village. Take some rest and have breakfast.
08:00 AM – Strat Trek Towords Mahipatgad.
10:30 AM – Reach the Mahipatgad Top & explore.
11.30 AM – Start Decending towords Base Village
01.30 PM – Reach Base village & have a lunch.
02.30 PM – Start travel towards Rasalgad.
03.00 PM – Reach Rasalgad base and start Ascending towards Rasalgad.
04.00 PM – Reach Rasalgad & Explore.
(Overnight stay on Rasalgad in temple)
DAY 02 – Sunday
06:30 AM – Wake Up Call. Freshen up & Breakfast.
08:00 AM – Start Range trek Towards Sumargad.
11:00 AM – Reach Sumargad & Explore.
12:00 PM – Start Decend towards Base Village.
02:00 PM – Reach Base Village & Lunch.
(Take some rest in base village) and Visit best part of village.
07.30 PM – Take dinner & Depart for Khed railway station.
9:50 PM – Catch Train for Mumbai (Tentative).
Note: Please come prepared for it by carrying proper clothing/bedding.

• A haversack to put in all the things to be carried, so that one has ones hands free while trekking.
• Pleases do not carry sling bags or Jholas.
• Please avoid wearing Gold and other Ornaments.

• Sleeveless, Low neck, Figure hugging, Shirts/Tops, Short Pants, Hot Pant not allowed.

• Do not litter, participants are requested to carry – – the waste back to the city and dispose it off in dustbins.
