The Lonar Crater was created by a meteorite collision impact during the Pleistocene Epoch. Formed around 52,000 years ago, when a meteor weighing 2 million tons hit the ground at an estimated speed of 90,000 km/hr the carter has a mean diameter of 1.2 kilometres and the outer diameter is about 1.8 km.🌠
The place is also endowed with ancient stories ,old and architecturally picturesque temples 🛕like Gomukh Temple, Kamalija Devi Temple, Daityasudan Temple, Motha maruti temple etc. which were built around 1250 years ago .
