Arunachal and Kaziranga

Caution:
– This trip is not meant for people with motion sickness, back or knee problems, and low tolerance to cold weather.
– You need to get up very early in the morning and be ready before 6AM (here twilight time is 4:30AM).

About:
Arunachal, the land of dawn lit mountains is one of the least explored paradises of India. It shares international borders with Bhutan in the west, and is separated from China in the north by the disputed McMahon Line. With more than 60% area under forest cover, it has the most diverse flora and fauna and also known as the Orchid State of India

Itinerary:
Part 1: Kaziranga
21st March, Thursday
11:00 – Reach Guwahati in morning and travel to Kohora in an Innova or Xylo. Overnight in an hotel near Kaziranga National Park

22nd March, Friday
Morning Jeep Safari in the central zone of the forest to see the one horned Rhinoceros. It is also a good zone for bird watching and mammals like spotted deers, mongoose, wild boars etc.
At noon we will visit the Orchid park which has collections of more than 100 varieties of Orchids.
In the evening we will enjoy the cultural dance in the same park.

23rd March, Saturday,
04:30 – Check out from Kohora and then enjoy the early morning Elephant Safari in the central zone. Enjoy the sunrise while traversing amongst the big beasts – Rhino, wild buffalo and elephant
07:00 – After the Safari we will immediately travel to Bomdila (7 hrs). Lunch on the way

Part 2 – Arunachal
23rd March, Saturday,
11:00 – Those joining for Arunachal can reach Guwahati airport in the morning. Travel to Bomdila (9hrs) in an Innova or Xylo. Both teams meet in Bomdila at night.

24th March, Sunday,
06:00 – Travel to Mandala top in the morning. It is perched on the top of a mountain and displays 108 beautiful stupas.
11:00 – Reach Dirang and check-in
12:00 – At noon, explore the massive monastery of Dirang built in the backdrop of a lush-green mountain.
In late afternoon, we can go to the hot springs

25th March, Monday,
06:00 – Start traveling to Tawang. On the way we will explore
– Sela pass and the frozen lake,
– The legendary Jaswant Singh memorial
– Jang waterfall
– Chaksham bridge
18:00 – Reach Tawang and rest

26th March, Tuesday
06:00 – Compulsory acclimatization walk to Buddha Stupa
09:00 – Visit the second largest monastery of Asia located in Tawang.
Later, we will travel to one of the most beautiful village i.e. Zemithang. On the way we will visit an unique monastery in Gorsam village

27th March, Wednesday,
In the morning, we will travel to a very peaceful monastery on the top of a mountain. You will get the view of the entire pangchen valley. Later we will play some games near the Nyamjang Chu river.
In the afternoon, we will travel to Lumla.

28th March, Thursday
In the morning we will visit the Taradevi temple at Lumla and then travel back to Tawang. On the way we can visit the Khinmey monastery.
Rest in the afternoon. In the evening, we will visit the War Memorial.

29th March, Friday
We will travel to the Indo-China border located at Bumla Pass (15200 feets). The landscape is dotted with many high altitude lakes and covered with snow. Enjoy the hot meals cooked in the canteens of the military and learn about their life in the border posts.
We will also spend some time near the Sangetsar lake which is remarkably different from others.

30th March, Saturday,
Return travel from Tawang to Nameri camp in Assam (10hrs). Breakfast and lunch on the way.

31st March, Sunday,
Enjoy the early morning walk near the forests of Nameri.
Travel from Nameri to Guwahati Airport (6hrs). You can take any flight post 4pm

Fees:
Rs.32,000 (Arunachal)
Rs.42,000 (Kaziranga + Arunachal)
You need to pay 50% non-refundable advance for booking the trip. Remaining amount can be paid in cash during the trip.

Cancellation charges:
50% – upto two weeks prior to trip commencement
75% – within two weeks to trip commencement

Includes:
– Travel in Innova or Xylo from Guwahati onwards
– All meals and refreshments from Guwahati onwards
– All entry and permit charges at various places
– Inner line permit for Arunachal
– Accommodation on all days during trip
– Safari at Kaziranga

Excludes:
– Travel charges to reach Guwahati (i.e. flight)
– Any rise in cost of food, travel and accommodation for extension of trip due to unforeseen circumstances or flight cancellations/delay.
