Located near Lonavala in Maharashtra, Lohagad (meaning “Iron Fort”) is one of the most popular and easily accessible forts in the Sahyadri range. Built around the 11th century, it was used by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to store treasure after capturing Surat.
