Waterfalls and Lakes

  • Randha Fall: A spectacular waterfall formed by the Pravara River, especially impressive during the monsoon season. The cascading water drops about 170 feet into a gorge.
  • Necklace Fall: A smaller, seasonal waterfall that gets its name from its appearance, resembling a necklace of water droplets.
  • Umbrella Fall: This is a unique waterfall where the water spills over a semi-circular rock formation, creating an umbrella-like canopy of water. It is located near the Wilson Dam.
  • Kalsubai Peak: Although not a waterfall, the poster lists a distance to it. Kalsubai Peak is the highest peak in Maharashtra. The peak offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area, including a beautiful view of the Wilson Dam.
  • Bhandardara Village: The central village and heart of the Bhandardara tourist area. It’s located on the banks of Arthur Lake, a large, beautiful lake formed by the Wilson Dam.
  • Wilson Dam (Bhandardara Dam): The main dam on the Pravara River, creating the Arthur Lake. It is one of the oldest dams in India, built in 1910. The dam’s spillway is known for the Umbrella Fall.
  • Arthur Lake: An artificial lake created by the Wilson Dam. It’s a key attraction for boating and offers stunning views of the surrounding hills.
  • Nilwande Dam: A relatively new dam on the Pravara River, located downstream from the Wilson Dam. It’s primarily for irrigation and has also become a tourist spot.
  • Spillway: The overflow channel of a dam, in this case, the Wilson Dam, which creates the Umbrella Falls.
